Terms of Service

1. Service description

Sommvi is an AI-powered wine sommelier iOS application ("the Service") operated by Sommvi ("we", "us", "our"). The Service provides personalised wine recommendations, label scanning, cellar management, and conversational guidance powered by large language models. By downloading or using Sommvi you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Account registration and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Sommvi offers a free tier and two paid subscription plans — Sommelier and Connoisseur — which unlock additional features as described in the app. Paid subscriptions are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase and managed via RevenueCat.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account on confirmation of purchase.
  • You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
  • Apple's refund policy applies to all purchases. We do not process refunds directly — all refund requests must be submitted to Apple.
  • Prices may vary by country and are subject to change. We will provide reasonable notice of any price changes.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service by automated means
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise the Service without our written consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

5. AI-generated content disclaimer

The wine recommendations, tasting notes, and other content generated by Sommvi are produced by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional sommelier, oenological, or any other form of expert advice. We make no representations as to the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose. You should exercise your own judgement when making purchasing or consumption decisions.

6. Intellectual property

The Sommvi app, its design, underlying models, software, and all content produced by us are the intellectual property of Sommvi and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or proprietary content without our prior written permission. Content you create within the app — such as your tasting notes and cellar entries — remains yours.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sommvi and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription.
